Manifesto
I am most probably exceeding the limits of my knowledge but today I would like to make a call to those big corporations with the power to decide how many containers have to coat their products and what type of containers they sell their products in. I hope they understand we cannot go on like this. There are options that deserve an opportunity.
I would also like to address in this plea to reason the big plastic manufacturers of the world (Xiamen Xintonglian Plastic Co., Dow Chemical, Lyondell Basell, Exxon Mobil, SABIC, INEOS, BASF, ENI, LG Chem, Chevron Phillips, Lanxess, ...) I have no doubt your materials have tens of useful applications and that you all care for environment and sustainability at least up to a certain level marked by law, but I really think you are the ones with the power to reconsider the raw materials you use, especially in the manufacturing of those products that you sell and that you know have a limited useful life. After all, you are the ones with the power to invest in difference, which already exists (Chitosan, #Ooho, Wikicells,...).
Last but not least, I would love to draw the attention of those suppliers of ecological and vegan food to this text (Planeta Vegano, Alfapharma, Fredjove, la Vía Vegana, Suma Whole Foods, Real Foods, Fantastic Foods, Purely Organic, Deva Nutrition, Organic Avenue ...). No wonder vegan and ecological food are well-minded initiatives but as much as you care for the welfare of living creatures, you forget that a lot of living creatures are also dying worldwide due to plastic. I hate going into an eco-friendly or vegan shop and seeing that you manage to use even more packages and plastic containers than traditional supermarkets. You should be the ones providing an appropriate model.
Please, consider.
Thank you for reading.
